Dakota Prairie Grasslands

(Nancy Drilling)
In 2004, RMBO and the U.S. Forest Service implemented the first year of Monitoring of Grassland Birds on Little Missouri, Sheyenne and Grand River National Grasslands. The objectives of this study are to: 1) use monitoring techniques to determine population trends and distributions for breeding birds on these National Grasslands, and 2) to compare these population trends with grouse lek counts within the same study area.
